The owner's father made us feel right at home. A very gracious host who made sure we had the best seat to each the music and regaled us with stories. The session musicians were incredible especially the rendition of the song about the cop in New York.

Great place, lovely food. The boss = cook came out to have a chat, what a great guy. We felt really welcome!

Hands down this is one of the most welcoming, endearing pubs I have walked into! From the moment we opened the door, everyone was so friendly, the staff and locals made us feel so welcome. The atmosphere was second to none! The food was absolutely delicious! One of the locals and the landlord were having a sing along and everyone joined in. We were so sad to leave but we just happened to find this wonderful pub as we were passing. We are already looking into staying in Birr next time just so we can spend longer in this wonderful pub.
Very reasonably priced. Highly recommend! visiting!

We went to Kelly’s bar for my fathers birthday 8 people in total , 5 people got stuck in traffic table booked for 1pm and they didn’t come in till 1.38pm have to say there was no issue with this from staff, but this is where is gets interesting waiter asked if we wanted drinks said our drink order and proceeded to say drinks to be gotten and paid for at the bar was confused at this because she had asked about drinks no table service for drinks odd thing to have when you can place your food order at your table , starters were alright soup and vol et vonts no complaints , main course two lasagnas came out waited a further 5 mins all steak sandwiches came out and waited another 5mins for two Sunday dinners to come out bad service there , I got a turkey and ham dinner the worst roast dinner turkey was sour ham was not right mash was lumpy I had to send it back and got goujons , this was taken off the bill have to give credit there ,Lasagna was pre made and sat in the fridge and reheated ,beef dinner beef was tough ,only thing nice was steak sandwiches but hard to get that wrong. I brought a cake as it was a birthday I asked for the cake to be brought out waited roughly 15/20mins before asking where it was another 10mins passed and finally the cake came out, asked for plates no plates came out had to use our napkins , had to constantly ask for our water to be refilled felt we were put into a corner and forgotten about the service was absolutely brutal it pained me to pay the bill for bad food bad service will not be returning or recommending to anyone.

Old fashioned decorated restaurant with a bar at the front. Honest homemade tasty bar food, very nice crispy fish and chunky chips, BLT sandwiches were average. Service was good.
